Financial Information

The average annual cost of educating a student in Ohio is around $15,000. Our tuition is not subsidized by a religious or governmental organization, so we offer a tiered program that balances the financial needs of our families with providing equitable salaries for our staff, and expenses to run the school. We understand many families face financial barriers to paying tuition, acquiring necessary gear, paying ancillary fees and/or providing transportation for students to and from school. With our tiered model, we are able to offer an alternative education experience that still operates under the average cost threshold.

Tiered Tuition Program

At WGMS we value equity and fairness in our tuition approach. We strive to provide families with the opportunity to make a financial commitment based on their available resources. Our tuition program operates on an honor system, allowing for discounted rates without the need for extensive paperwork. This streamlined process benefits our families by fostering transparency and ensuring they clearly understand their financial obligations from the beginning of the admissions process.

We understand that assessing your family's financial situation can be challenging, so we have included a graphic below to assist you in determining which tuition tier is most suitable for your family.

Family Volunteer Hours

We prioritize providing an accessible educational experience while efficiently managing costs through a small administrative team. Understanding that a school's smooth operation involves many people, we adopt a community-based approach by distributing tasks among members. To support this, we ask each family to contribute volunteer hours. Alternatively, families can pay a buy-out fee of $25 per hour. Many families combine volunteer hours with the buy-out option based on their circumstances.

Annual Family Volunteer Hours:

  • 3-day families: 24 hours or $600

  • 2-day families: 16 hours or $400

    (Single-parent families' hours are halved.)

How It Works:

Upon enrollment, the buy-out equivalent of volunteer hours is added to each account. Families can choose to pay out some or all hours, or complete their hours by June 30th, reducing the fee by $25 for each hour recorded.

Who Can Contribute:

Any adult—family members, friends, etc.—can contribute to a family's volunteer hours.

Types of Opportunities:

There are various ways to contribute, including:

  • Board membership

  • Staff support (laundry, materials prep, etc.)

  • Guest educator blocks available

  • Chaperoning

  • Providing tours to potential families

  • Fundraising efforts
